Hi I'm Tygan

I'm a redhead, Chinese-speaking engineering student. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an active advocate for redheaded rights. I study Computer Engineering at BYU. I love cooking and eating, though I'm much more skilled at the second one. I speak Mandarin Chinese, a little Spanish, and various phrases in Thai, German, French, ASL, Japanese, Italian, and Korean. I love swimming, biking, and running, but I'm no triathlete yet. A family member described me as having "a unique, rather dry sense of humor" when I was only 10 years old. Fortunately I've gained multiple other senses of humor since then. I am ambitious but often fear failure. I get stressed but prefer to laugh. When I get bored I insist on making life more interesting. The closest people in my life are my parents, brother, 2 sisters, and a small handful of friends. The most important things in my life are my personal character and my relationships with these people.

Why I am a Mormon

Every day I get strength from God. He empowers me to achieve things I think are impossible, and get through days I think are unbearable. I live my faith by asking for His help each day and doing my best to trust Him. I often doubt myself, but my trust allows me to continue to follow Him and prove Him right, once again. I have proved Him time after time. I often have feelings and thoughts I know are inspired by God. These feelings and thoughts have helped me know that He loves me, that I don't need to be afraid, and that my future is filled with hope. They have also taught me that He has brought back the same teachings and the same church that Jesus created 2000 years ago. That church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Please read about those teachings and see if they ring true to you. Because I did, I know you can communicate with God, your Father, and find out for yourself how you can be even happier.

How I live my faith

I follow my Savior by developing the most important things He has given me:my personal character and my relationships. I show my love for Him and become more like Him by helping other people. For 2 years, I shared my beliefs with many people in New South Wales, Australia, in the hope that I could help some of my new friends become happier. I try to be kind to the people I meet each day, my roommates, my friends, and my family.
