Hi I'm Lauren Affleck

I love music, singing, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. And I am currently a missionary serving in Lubbock, Texas!!

About Me

Some of my hobbies are camping, singing, playing musical instruments, and traveling. I am the second youngest in my family of seven. I am currently going to Brigham Young University-Idaho and studying Music Education. The church helped me as I have moved to many different places because it always remains the same. It has been my constant support. My family is a strength to me, especially as we moved--I knew I could lean on them for anything.

Why I am a Mormon

As I was born into an LDS family, it was only natural for me growing up, to go to church with my family. When I reached the age of 15 I desired to know for myself if this was the right church that I was going to. I knelt in prayer and asked my Heavenly Father if this was the true church. A comforting feeling washed over me and I felt a burning in my chest--tears came to my eyes. My answer was yes. I knew after that that I could not deny the answer that I received. Since then I have asked my Father in heaven many questions and He has answered them when He sees fit. I know that this church is true. I know that God has given us a living prophet because just like they needed one in the times of old, we need one now. I know that if we strive to live a worthy life, that we can live with our Heavenly Father again. I know that because I am human and imperfect, that I could not make it back to my Fathers presence without the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and for His sacrifice I am eternally grateful. I know that those I love that have passed away--I will see them again. I am so grateful to know that these things are true. It has brought peace, comfort, and happiness into my life.

How I live my faith

I feel that I am a contributor to my church because of the callings I have been given. Throughout my time in the church I have been a leader, a greeter, a pianist, I have worked with the children, etc. As I am able to take a part in my church, it encourages me to not only participate in living the gospel on Sundays, but every day of the week. I am able to live my faith through the support of church-members, my Heavenly Father, and my family.
