Hi I'm Heidi Mitchell

I've never eaten a bad cupcake. I love roller coasters. I'll be serving an 18 month mission in Twin Falls, Idaho. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Half of my life was spent in Alabama, and the other here in Florida. The beach is my favorite place. I hate cake, but I love cupcakes. Spending time with family and friends is my favorite thing to do, especially at theme parks. My life goal is to visit every temple in the United States! My parents are a couple of goofs, that I love dearly. Seriously, they are the best to be around! My younger brother is preparing to serve a mission. And my older sister and brother-in-law have two super adorable children! Being an aunt is my favorite thing in the whole world. Especially because we can be crazy and have fun, but when Aunt Heidi gets tired, they can go back to mommy. My sister loves that part, too... This past year I was able to participate in a program called Pathway! It has changed my life. I am so grateful for the experience I had being part of this inspired program. I plan to serve my mission, and then return to Idaho to go to BYU-I. It was actually my plan to go to school there before I had even decided to serve a mission. It's good to know I was already planning to go where the Lord wants me!

Why I am a Mormon

I've attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life, and was baptized when I was 8. Although, I was truly converted at the age of 14. I'm a Mormon because of the special witness I was given when struggling through a very difficult trial. To see the difference in my life without this precious gospel really opened my eyes, and I had never wanted something back so badly. A piece of me was missing, and I knew it couldn't be replaced with anything else. I know that I was given this gospel as a tool to return to live with my Heavenly Father and my Savior again. They would never want us to feel alone. They are always there to help us, as long as we let them. I love the special feelings and promptings I receive when I read the Book of Mormon. I love the powerful spirit that is present as I take part of the sacrament. I love the special blessing and chance I have to be able to be with my family forever! I love the gift of prayer and how easy our Father in Heaven has made it to connect with Him. I love our Prophet Thomas S. Monson, his apostles, and their powerful and inspired messages that they share. I love the opportunity that I have to serve as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I already love the people of Twin Falls Idaho so much! I can't wait to bring this gospel to those searching for truth.

How I live my faith

I have the wonderful opportunity to serve as a primary teacher! I teach the Junior primary girls that are ages 5-7. I've had this calling for a little over a year and a half, and it has been a huge blessing in my life. And let me tell you, it has been so much fun! Every smile and giggle because of "funny" names in the scripture stories. Or serious comments like, "Laman and Lemuel are NOT choosing the right." The bear hugs and sweet I love you's. It makes all the hard work I put into the lesson's so worth it! I truly look forward to each Sunday. To see these children grow up and come to know their Savior is an amazing thing. Being a primary teacher has strengthened my own testimony and given me so much more confidence in my own knowledge of the gospel. These kids help me learn and are huge examples to me on how I need to live my faith. I hope that I am as good of an example to them as they are to me. I have so much love for them and I have never seen them as anything other than precious children of a loving Heavenly Father. I am constantly reminded that I am a child of God. It helps me on my hard days to remember that my Heavenly Father is always there.
