Hi I'm Melanie
I'm a mother and wife. I love nature/flowers, creating things and reading. I especially love being Mormon!
I grew up the oldest of three children and to this day my siblings and I are close. My dad died when I was thirteen leaving my mom to raise us. (She continues to be a remarkable example and strength to me!) I later served a mission for my church in Barcelona, Spain for eighteen months. I met wonderful people and have treasured memories of my time there. Years later, my husband and I met on a blind date and married shortly thereafter. I am now the mother to four children - two girls and two boys. I run a website by day and help my children with homework by night. We have two dogs, Kai and Charlie.
Why I am a Mormon
I have been religious my whole life; however, when my dad died, I started to seek answers through prayer. I wanted to know if God cared about me, why my dad died, where was he now, etc. Through that experience I came to know that God really answers prayers. He is completely aware of me. I am His child. He loves me. He has continued to answer my prayers; however, I have had to learn how to recognize His answers. Through this communication I can know what is true. While I have learned and grown in knowledge of my faith, I am a Mormon because of my personal answers from God. You, too, can ask for answers and find lasting happiness in your own life.
How I live my faith
My faith is very much a part of my daily life. While I read the scriptures and pray daily, we also do this as a family. It has been a great source of happiness and a strength throughout each day. We also work to memorize our favorite scriptures. I do have responsibilities or assignments within my church. At the present time I am in charge of the leaders that teach the children each week. Along with some other women, we make sure their needs are met and do what we can to assist them. I am also assigned to visit three wonderful women in my area each month. These three women have become some of my closest friends in the years we have known each other.
