Hi I'm Gian Palomino

I'm Peruvian. I'm a son of immigrants, I'm an AP student, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born in Peru in 1994. I have an amazing dad who has done all he can to support me each and every day. An amazing sister who has given me the love and joy a child deserves. I moved to the States after my mother passed away. Here, my family expanded to include a courageous brother in law, who basically is like a second brother. I have two nieces and 1 nephew which brings me joy to see them grow up. I've attended school until 2013, which I graduated with honors. I am currently serving in the Utah Provo Mission, until June 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church since I was little but I truly felt I did not realize my true faith in the church until I was in my pre-teens, which I really felt lost in the world and asked myself the questions like "why am I here" "how did we get here". I felt like I was betraying my father because I did not feel 100% committed to the commandments, I was relying on his testimony. I didn't know how to develop my own testimony until I truly asked and received the words of our Heavenly Father that this indeed is his church. I truly feel that one day I will live with him and my family, and that I can reunite with my mother once again. If I follow his commandments and principles then my Heavenly Father will give me what he promise, because he will always give if we do what is right. I have a testimony that this church is the true church, that he has sent a prophet to be a seer and revelator to all. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and coincides with the words of the Bible, and both are the words of God. I believe that our Heavenly Father sent his son to die for us and thanks to him, we can come back and resurrect and be like him - perfect and eternal. I know that he loves all his children and thinks about them each passing day. He is the alpha and omega and he knows past, present, and future. He has given a plan to one day come back and with the hard work and dedication to administer his ordinances, obey his commandment and uphold his covenants, we will be set to enjoy an everlasting happiness. I am proud to know the gospel and I am blessed to know who I am and where I come from.

How I live my faith

I love to serve people and make them feel welcome. I must look everybody as a son and daughter of God. Always make him/her feel comfortable around me. I love hanging with the Young Men, we joke around, play basketball, watch movies, and just talk. If I can make one person feel good about themselves, it'll mean the world to me. I love helping the scouts learn excited things and work up towards their Eagle Scout.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Gian Palomino
We believe that the Bible is a word of God and was written by the prophets which are witness of the first coming of Christ. We also believe in the Book of Mormon which coincides with the Bible, just relays the stories of prophets and revelators in the Americas. It provides an additional background of how the Savior has impacted lives. The Book Of Mormon supports and exalts the Bible. Show more Show less
