Hi I'm Autumn

I live in Las Vegas. I love science and dancing. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student at BYU-Idaho. I just finished my 5th semester and I am majoring in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Biology. I love science and I enjoy learning about how organisms work. The organization of all living things is fascinating to me and I cannot wait to be able to share my passion for these things with others by teaching high school students.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents became active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 6 years old. I was baptized into the church when I was 8 years old and have loved the gospel ever since. I can't tell you that I have a conversion story where, through a specific experience, my life was changed and I automatically knew that this gospel was true. There came a point in my life where I knew that living off of the faith of my parents was no longer enough. I needed to decide if I wanted to be a Mormon for me, I needed to figure out if I truly believed in this gospel or not. The process of finding answers to my questions and doubts about the gospel did not come quickly. It took me years of pondering, asking questions, praying, and opening myself up to the Holy Ghost before I realized what the answer to my question was. I realized that I have always known that this gospel is true. Since I was young I knew that this Church had the fullness of God's plan for His children, it just took me a long time to realize that. I am a member of this church because I have prayed to God about it and recieved the answer that this gospel is the true church

How I live my faith

I have recently decided to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been called to serve in the western part of Uruguay! I leave on May 8th and will be serving for 18 months. I am so excited to share this gospel with other people on my mission. I have found so much joy in expressing my love for and faith in this church to my friends and colleagues throughout my life. I know that this church holds the truth and light of God in its entirety and I want everyone to feel the joy that I have because of my faith in this gospel.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormons believe that men and women are equal, but that in marriage and in raising families there are different roles that men and women are designed to fill. The role of a father is to watch over, protect, teach, and provide for his family and the role of a mother is to nurture and teach their children. Each of these roles is important and neither role is complete without the other. Mormon women are like all other women. Some are housewives, some are dentists, some are lawyers, some are teachers, etc. Mormon women focus on raising their families, being a loving wife and mother, and trying to become a better follower of Jesus Christ, and Mormon men focus on the same types of things.
