Hi I'm Sydney Halford

I grew up in Gilbert, AZ. I'm a student at BYU-Idaho. I have an affinity for nature. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm nineteen and a student in Rexburg, ID. I have an affinity for nature and the reminder it is to me of our God's love for us, His children. I spend much of my time outdoors hiking, slack-lining, and biking with my siblings (two brothers and a sister.) Currently, I am preparing to serve as a representative of the LDS church as a full-time missionary in the Washington Federal Way Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Mormon church because I truly believe it to contain the fully restored gospel that Christ ministered himself while here on the Earth. I have read Bible and the Book of Mormon and prayed with a sincere heart with pure intent and have had the spirit witness to me of their correctness. I have a testimony of the restoration. I know that because our Father in Heaven loves us that he has presented us the opportunities we need in order to return to live with Him. He presents these opportunities to us through His prophets. I know that as we, His children, choose the right, follow His commandments, live according to our faith and repent each time we fail that we grow closer to heaven. I believe in modern day prophets who receive revelation on behalf of all the Earth's inhabitants. I'm full of gratitude as I reflect on our Savior's atonement & I'm thankful for the opportunity I have to be forgiven of my sins. Although I am imperfect He has given my the chance to be forgiven and to try to improve each day. It fills my heart with gladness to know that I can be with my family for all of eternity as long as we live righteously. I love my family dearly and that is the greatest treasure we have been given. I know the church is true. I know it, I live it, I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choosing to live as our savior Jesus Christ would. I try to be kind, selfless, patient, & charitable in my daily interactions according to the example Jesus Christ set while he lived. I participate weekly in church activities throughout the week as well as attending Sunday meetings. As I previously mentioned, I will be volunteering my time to serve as a full-time missionary for one and a half years beginning June 2014. I will live my faith and preach of the truthfulness of the restored church to anyone who will listen. I love the principles and doctrine that the Christ's church teaches and I feel my testimony grow and God's love for me as I live them.
