Hi I'm Riley Haycock

I live it, I love it, I believe in it. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into the church. I have lived in California my whole life and was not always surrounded by people with the same beliefs as I. I am 19 and am currently attending BYU Idaho. I am preparing myself to teach the people of Gilbert Arizona. I will be preaching the gospel in the Spanish language. I love to draw and take pictures and I most especially love to share the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well, I could say that I was born into the church so it has just been natural for me. That is true to some extent, but it goes a little deeper than that. I believe that I was truly converted to this gospel about 3 years ago. My stake had put on a huge youth activity that lasted about three days. The theme was The Book of Mormon, I've never felt the spirit testify to me so strongly that this book was true. Since then I have grown to really, truly appreciate the gospel and the truth that it holds. I know that God lives and that Jesus Christ died for me and YOU, I know that the Book of Mormon is ANOTHER testament of Jesus Christ and that it works along side the Bible. I am a Mormon because I not only choose to be, but because I want to be. It is what makes me happy and what makes this life on earth worth living.

How I live my faith

When I got up to Idaho I was first called to be a Compassionate Service Assistant, meaning I helped others be happy:). My most recent calling was a Gospel Doctrine Teacher, I basically teach about the scriptures. This calling was the most fun, at first I must admit I was very nervous, but in the end it has blessed me tremendously! I believe that this calling was given to me for a reason, and I saw that as a sign that I am meant to teach others by serving an 18 month mission.
