Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a mom of 8. As well as my own children I foster teens. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I finished High School headed for a career and success. Instead I met an amazing man and just had to keep him. It took me 16 years to finish my bachelors degree, but I did it. I now have 8 children. My family enjoys having "bonus" kids and we foster teen girls, mostly. We usually have about two extras living with us. I love cooking, reading, and soaking in my tub. Ok, mostly I just cook and don't have much time for reading or my tub, but I do enjoy my children immensely.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised LDS, but that doesn't mean I haven't had my own conversion. I'm the kind of person who doubts and asks lots of questions, so conversion for me has been a long and ongoing process. I have studied many other religions, and love learning about their doctrines and practices. But I love the truth, the clarity, and especially the witness of the Spirit that the doctrines and practices taught by the LDS church are true and correct and what I need in my life right now. My testimony is simple. God lives. Christ is his Son. Through him we can return to our Father again. And we can learn more about and come closer to The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit here on this earth and find that peace, comfort, and companionship so many of us seek.

How I live my faith

Right now I help run a group of 8-12 year old girls, planning and implementing activities for them a few times per month. I attend church worship services each week and particularly enjoy those quiet moments during the sacrament.
