Hi I'm Monta a.k.a. Marie

I am a mother of 2 beautiful boys and I'm married to my best friend. I love the Lord and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Texas, grew up in Hawaii and now live in Utah. I love sports, particularly volleyball. I love exercise, especially Zumba. And I love being a mom, even when my boys make messes and drive me nuts! I am currently a Zumba instructor, even though most of my life I've been completely uncoordinated. But I love it...helping others enjoy working out by shaking their booties to great music makes me happy. I tend to have a temper, I'm impatient, and have a host of other faults, but I'm always trying to do better. My faith is the most important thing in, and the center of, my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith is everything to me...it gives me peace and a sense of who I am as a daughter of God. I grew up as a member of this church, but I have come to know as an adult that it is true, that God loves us and the heavens are open through a living prophet, temples and scriptures that draw us closer to Him. I believe the spirit tells us something is true through feelings of peace and clarity, and that's exactly what I feel when I read the Book of Mormon and learn more about Christ through its words.

How I live my faith

I play the organ for my ward and it's a calling I really love...definitely my favorite calling to date. Most people probably don't even notice whether or not I play on Sundays but I love being a part of bringing the spirit to a meeting through sacred music. More important than that I think living my faith is a daily experience of trying to better myself by loving others in a sincere and active way, by trying to follow the example of my Savior. I'm not always good at it, but this life is all about trying - making mistakes and doing better the next day.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Monta a.k.a. Marie
Of course we believe in the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments! The Bible teaches about God and His disciples from the first man Adam, down to the apostles after the life and death of Christ. Some of my favorite scriptures are in the Bible, especially the New Testament, where we can learn about the life of the Savior. He lived and died and was resurrected for each one of us, and it's through the Bible that we learn about Him. The Bible testifies that He lives and loves us. Show more Show less
