Hi I'm Catherine

I love to ski. I enjoy learning about my ancestors and their stories. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in California and raised in Utah. I am just finishing up my freshman year at college and getting ready to serve an LDS mission in Canada. When I come back I want to study genetics and get into a research lab. I love to ski and read and I love being outside in all types of weather.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in a Mormon family and community. Being surrounded by others of my same faith made it easy for me to live the standards of our church. However, when I went away to college, I was encircled by people with beliefs and standards that were different from mine. I sometimes felt inferior and ignorant because of my beliefs, and I really struggled to know whether or not this church was true. As I continued to pray to Heavenly Father and live my life in the way I had been taught, I felt an out-pouring of love and strength. I knew that my Heavenly Father and Savior were there, and that they loved me and were watching over me. I realized the happiness and purpose that my faith gives me and firmly resolved to never abandon it.

How I live my faith

I attend weekly Sunday services at my church as well as additional church activities throughout the week. I always strive to share my faith with others both through words and the way I live my life. Though I am in college, I abstain from alcohol, drugs, or any form of sexual conduct as these things are contrary to the standards which we abide by in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

What is being a Mormon like?

Catherine
Being a Mormon is the happiest blessing in the world. I love being Mormon because it helps me be the best person that I can be. It guides me to live my life in a way that I can have the Holy Ghost with me, to lead me and to assist me throughout my entire life. I can feel of my Savior's love for me. I know that death is not the end, and that families can be together for ever. Everything about being a Mormon makes me happy and makes me want to share it with others. Show more Show less
