Hi I'm Joy Letheren

I'm a grandmother. I'm a retired nurse. I was raised in the Church of England. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of four girls, so I have three sisters. I dabble in knitting, sewing, trying new things, sports, playing the flute, and just about everything else. I guess I would say that I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none. My profession is that of a nurse, though I have been retired for 15 years or so. I have 3 children and 9 grandchildren, all of whom bring me a lot of happiness in life. I also have a wonderful husband who has been with me for 51 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in the Church of England, or Anglican Church, and I was perfectly satisfied with my religion when I was younger. The Mormon missionaries called on me and told me they had a message from God, and as I was a Christian, I felt I should listen to them. I studied the Latter Day Saint faith and found no reason to disbelieve it, so I continued to associate with the members and learn the doctrines of it. I have found it so satisfying to be a part of, and it continues to be one of the most important things in my life.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith is by sharing it with those around me. I also do my part in the community by doing volunteer gardening at a stately home. I also do various things throughout the year such as collecting for the Red Cross and delivering leaflets for the neighbourhood association. I enjoy socialising with friends both in the Church and out of it. I do my best to be an example to everyone, no matter where I am.
