Hi I'm Nathan

I'm a life saver. I'm a student. I'm a mormon

About Me

I have always been interested in helping others. Swimming is a hobby that I still enjoy today and I've had many opportunities to teach others how to swim. When my brother introduced the idea of being a lifeguard at a local water-park I found that I could serve in other ways. I deeply enjoyed having a skill that I used frequently to benefit others. Through my emergency medical training, I grew to love the health sciences more, I soon became interested in pharmacy. Chemistry and biology peaked my interest as I worked on undergraduate studies. Now, I am a student earning the Doctor of Pharmacy degree; the PharmD.

Why I am a Mormon

As we seek our Heavenly Father, we will find that he is readily available and quick to provide aid, comfort, love and many blessings. He is a real being who does have great concern for us, his children. God does not wish for his children to become lost, alone, or discouraged. He has always provided a way to which we may all enjoy the blessings which he enjoys as well as become like he is. I look back on the history of the Earth and I see many instances in which the people had lost hope. They may wonder why in scripture are there example after example of God speaking to his people, giving revelations, visions, miracles - and wonder why those are not seen today. I have even heard some say that those things disappeared with the apostles and prophets of old. This could not be further from the truth. God does indeed keep his promise, "seek and ye shall find." Often in scripture we are told that we should ask, we are then promised to receive. I am a Mormon because I have asked and I have received. I see God's concern for his people and the love which he displays openly. He speaks to a prophet today, just as we read He did in scripture. He reveals the truth of his gospel to all those who ask with faith and a sincere heart. The miracle of the atonement, Christ's ultimate sacrifice, is available to all. From the purest saint even down to the most grievous of sinners, it is truly a miracle that we may become clean and removed from our sins. This is why I am a Mormon. I live it, I love it.

How I live my faith

First and foremost, I live my faith as an example. Growing up, I was one of a few who were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My friends and I were well known and we knew that we were representatives of our faith at all times, in all things, and in all places. I enjoy explaining to others my beliefs and how those beliefs deeply bless my own life. Every member of our church is encouraged to serve in many capacities. This is because much the work of the church is performed, in large part, by lay ministers, members of the congregation, who are not professional clergy or even paid. I am a ward missionary, or a representative of the church for the local area. I work closely with the missionaries which you may have seen wearing white shirts and black name tags, knocking on doors, and sharing the gospel to many others. As an example, I am always a representative of this church.
