Hi I'm Joshua Pittman

I was born in Utah and grew up in Oregon. I am an outdoorsman, a brother, and a loving son. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest child in my family. I have two brothers and one sister. I have moved around a lot for most of my life. I am an avid hunter and fisher, and love to get out in nature. We tend to go out and do things as a family, and love to go camping together. It has been harder the last few years as my mother has struggled from health issues. I also struggled with some health issues during my high school years. It is something that has brought us closer together as a family and we tend to rely more on each other. I enjoy reading books, crocheting, doing origami, and spending time on the computer. I served a mission for my church in upper state New York.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church but struggled with my understanding of the church. As a child I didn't understand as much why the church was important. But as my family went through the struggles surrounding my moms health I came to feel a difference when I went to church. There was a different spirit that stayed in our home and I felt a greater peace and happiness. As I grew older I gained a stronger testimony that this church was true. Then I was preparing to serve a mission for my church and I began to truly read and study from the Book of Mormon. There is such a peace that I feel when I read from its pages. When I prayed to know that it was true I received a comforting and reassuring answer from the Holy Ghost that it was true. This church has given me such hope and peace. This gospel helps me to understand why things happen, why we have to go through trials. It has also helped me to know that our Heavenly Father loves us, because we are his children. This gospel is the gospel of Jesus Christ that has been restored in all it's fullness. I have a personal testimony that this church is true and that Joseph Smith did see God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. I know this church is true. I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I enjoy living my faith. As I go out and serve others I am blessed and see great blessings come into my life. I become more Christlike.Currently I work with the missionaries in our congregation and correlate their efforts with the other members of our congregation. I am in a congregation of young single adults and also work to correlate activities with other young single adults in the region. I love to share the joy this gospel brings into my life, along with the hope that it affords me.
