Hi I'm Maria A Cabello

I'm a Texas lovin' Venezuelan living in Florida raising 2 teenage boys and a daughter with Spina Bifida and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm Venezuelan that wanted to move to Florida for a long time. And now we are and can't wait to find out all that Fl has to offer. I'm raising 2 teenage boys and a 6 year old daughter with Spina Bifida. She keeps me busy and besides the challenge that that is, I love to be creative - I love crafts, decorating, scrapbooking, fun outings with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a mormon since I was eight. At that time I was living in Utah and no one ever bothered in knowing if I was LDS. I guess they assumed that I was Mormon. But on our trip to Venezuela we walked along the church. I stopped and told my mother the name was long and I wanted to go in. So we did. And ever since I have loved being a Mormon. I love to know that I have the gospel in my life to help raise my children in righteousness. My children are great kids. My teenage boys are so well centered and love the gospel! I am so glad I made the decision to be a Mormon. I love my faith!

How I live my faith

I love to serve the Lord whenever I can. I attend the Valencia Ward in the Orlando Stake. I love the opportunity to be the Secretary of the Women's organization called Relief Society. I love planning, decorating, creating fun things for all of our activities. I love knowing that my kids have a great place to learn the gospel and most importantly to serve the Lord thru their callings. I love that I am Visiting Teacher and I get to visit with great woman of my faith once a month. I love knowing that I can help take care of them and share wonderful messages and wonderful experiences with them.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Now that I moved to Florida and with the hurricanes Becoming self-reliant provides more personal independence, industry, thrift and self respect. It also gives more opportunity to serve and care for others in need. This topic is fascinating for me and always find it interesting to learn.
