Hi I'm Steve

I am a convert and was rasied in California. I served in the U.S. Air Force in Viet Nam during the Viet Nam War. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am retired after working for in municipal government for over thirty years. I am a grandfather and live near my grandchildren and make time for them try to insure that the time I spend with them is a happy experience for all of us. I enjoy doing family history research and have been successful in finding records of my ancestors and have even been able to find a variety of records about them.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church when I was fourteen years old after stumbling upon a local congregation in the City where my parents and I had just moved into. I will forever be greatful to the young lady who was my own age who invited to learn about her Church and the two young Mormon Missionaries who taught me about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the intervening years I have learned nad to truly understand that I am a son of God and that as one of his children I can live with Him again. I love this Church, I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I know that in this Church one can find the truth and a plan of happiness that can lead each of us back to our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I make time to serve the members of my community by volunteering in my local family history center. As a volunteer I look for opportunities to help others search their family roots. It makes me very happy as I see others find their ancestors and feel a great satisfaction helping them connect with family members from generations in the past. I also serve in my local church congregation and spend time visiting with members who attend my church and help maintaining records.

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Mormon prophets are human like you and me. They are special because they of the testimony they have of our Father in Heaven and His son, Jesus Christ and they share this message to the entire world by inviting all mankind to come unto the Savior. Prophets do not choose to be prophets, but are called by God and receive authority by Him to direct the affairs of this Church to prepare the world for the return of Jesus Christ. What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

As a son of God I have learned that I can live with Father in Heaven again, that I am His son and because I am His son I want to be with his again. As we attain eternal life, if we have done those things that are in harmony with the teachings and commandments of the Savior, we can live with our families again forever, even after we have died and have been resurrected.
