Hi I'm Susan

I'm a homemaker. I'm a mother of three vivacious children. I love to travel, sing and crochet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In this phase of my life, I get to stay home, nibble baby toes and make sack lunches for my three adorable and occasionally challenging children. I grew up in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Northern California as part of a large family - youngest of 7. I attended Brigham Young University and studied English. I have had several opportunities to travel through Europe with choirs and a study abroad program and have a passion for exploring new places. After working for the Salt Lake Olympic committee in the archives and library, I decided to attend graduate school for library and information sciences. During this time, I met my husband and fell madly in love with a man who shares my taste in music and my faith. 10 year later, we have two girls, a boy, and a long list of home repairs.

Why I am a Mormon

Even as a child, I could feel God was listening when I prayed. And that he loved me. This was the basis of my belief in something greater than myself. I was raised in a Mormon home where I was encouraged to pray and study to find for myself what was true. As a freshman in high school, I read the Book of Mormon for the first time on my own. When I read of Jesus' kind acts - blessing the children, healing the sick, I felt such an overwhelming sensation of love and peace. Knowing that I am also a child of God enables me to keep trying my best even when life gets hard.

How I live my faith

My days begin and end with prayer. Praying gives me a chance to connect with my Father in Heaven and evaluate my life. We try to pray and read scriptures together as a family daily. Hearing each other pray for the well being of our family helps us feel united in a single purpose - serving our Heavenly Father. I feel so blessed right now to serve in the children's organization for our congregation.
