Hi I'm Heather

I grew up in Utah, but love to travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music; I was in my school concert band from 6th grade through my senior year playing the flute, piccolo, and tuba, and I played the flute for a couple of seasons in the marching band. I have attended one semester of college, but haven't decided on a major yet. I enjoy reading, especially fantasy books. When I was nine my family lived in Florence, Italy for nine months, and when I was fifteen we lived in Alexandria, Virginia, and then London, England, all for my dad's work. I love traveling, and seeing all the beautiful things in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of this Church, and I never really questioned it until I was about sixteen. At that time I decided that I really wanted to know for myself, without relying on my parents', or anyone else's, testimonies. As I prayed and read my scriptures daily, I gained a better understanding of God and His plan, and I knew in my heart that He lives, that He loves me, and that this is His true Church. Looking back, I have had some amazing experiences, and I have witnessed miracles. But those things aren't what make up my testimony of Christ or His Gospel. It is all the small things, the ordinary, day-to-day things, that help me know that this Church is true. Having a prayer answered, feeling light and happy after reading my scriptures, feeling comforted when I pray for help, and feeling the Spirit at church are all such small things that would be so easy to disregard, or forget about, but I know that they are all from our Heavenly Father, telling me that He loves me, and that this is His Gospel. I know that He lives. I know that He has restored His Church through the prophet Joseph Smith. I have read, and I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and that through Him we can all return again to our Father in Heaven. I have been so blessed by His Gospel. I have no idea where I would be without it, but I know that it makes me so happy. I know who I am, where I belong, and where I am going. I am so grateful for that.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary in the Oklahoma Tulsa mission, sharing the message of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

As missionaries, we care about each of the people that we come into contact with, and we strive to serve each of them in any way we can, and especially to help them build faith in Jesus Christ. We teach about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and His role in each of our lives. He is central to everything we do. We teach about the Book of Mormon, where the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints came from, and what God's plan is for each of us. Show more Show less
