Hi I'm Sarah

I love the Disney princess Snow White, gardening, and just about anything Chinese. Oh, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am an Elementary Education graduate and will be starting my first year of teaching this next school year. I love teaching, especially children, because of the difference I am able to make in their life. I have grown up working at a garden center and love helping people pick out the right kinds of flowers and vegetables for their yard as well as prevent pests and weeds from coming in. Also, you might say I am quite competitive. I love playing games and sports, especially volleyball. I also love watching baseball and football. Family means more to me than anything else and so I love when we go hiking and camping or other things together. Finally, it has always been my dream to learn Chinese and go to China. I love anything and everything Chinese and can't wait to live my dream and travel to Hong Kong soon!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I wouldn't be able to live each day without knowing the purpose for why I am doing and experiencing the things that I am. I cannot imagine living each day by myself without the assistance and assurance of the Holy Ghost as my constant companion. There have been many times when I wondered why certain things have happened to me, but looking back on them now I know that those things happened to me for a reason and I would not be the same person I am today without them. The biggest trial in my life is living in the unknown and not seeing the big picture, but I do know that my Heavenly Father has my best interest and that he will never leave me, so long as I stay faithful and true. Prayer is a constant in my life and I know that I have gained important relationships with Jesus and Heavenly Father. I trust them with my life as I hope they do me with their other children.

How I live my faith

Not only am I a teacher by profession, but I also am a teacher within my church. I teach women in a college single's ward. I didn't like teaching at first but have come to love it and enjoy each month when I teach. I have grown so much through my studying of the scriptures and the Ensign. I live my life as if I were walking with Jesus Christ. I try to always think about the consequences of my decisions and follow the spirit accordingly. I have had a lot of trials that have tested my faith, but that have also brought me closer to my Heavenly Father and Mother, and Jesus Christ.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The way that I came to a strong testimony of the truth of Mormonism is through sincerely asking Heavenly Father. I created a promise with Heavenly Father that if He would do something for me or help my testimony grow that I would do something in return for Him. I know that it is because of my faith and determination to keep my end of the bargain that Heavenly Father was able to bless me with a greater understanding of this church and all that I can do within it. If you are on the fence, simply pray to Heavenly Father, make a deal with Him that if you stop doing something that is keeping you away from the church and that if He will reward you with blessings and a stronger belief in this church, I guarantee He will keep His end of the bargain so long as you do too!
