Hi I'm Kent

I grew up in Tiffin Ohio and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the Church after being introduced to the Gospel by the wonderful lady who later became my wife. Dawn and I are the proud parents of our 18 year old daughter who will be attending BYUI in April 2014. I have spent the last 20 years working as an attorney in my home town of Tiffin Ohio.

Why I am a Mormon

After being introduced to the Church, I spent many hours reading and investigating about many issues regarding the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Growing up, my family had always been "religious" and we attended church almost every Sunday. However, it wasn't until I started investigating the Church, that I truly began to study the Gospel, ask questions, and seek answers. The answers I received, completed so many pieces of the puzzle that I knew it was all true. Once I knew it was all true, there wasn't any other choice but to accept it and agree to live it.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life. My faith cannot be separated from every act, decision, or step I take. As a family, we support and guide each other so that we can make those choices which will keep us on the path to our goals.

Are Mormons Christians?

I always chuckle a little when I am asked this question. My first response is: "Do you know the name of the Church to which I belong?" So many of the times their answer is yes. I then watch them repeat the name in their mind and then they usually get a smile on their face and laugh it off and say they must be confusing our church with some other church! For those who don't know the name of our Church, I take the time to tell them the name of our Church and to explain how it was named. We do believe in Jesus Christ, He stands at the head of this, His church. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon, similar to the Holy Bible, was written by many different Prophets. Similar to how the Holy Bible wasn't written by one person, neither was the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon, similar to the Bible, contains sacred accounts of the creation of the earth and role of Jesus Christ. The Bible and Book of Mormon stand as witnesses of our Savior Jesus Christ. Mormon, whose name appears on the cover of the Book of Mormon, was one of the last of the ancient Prophet's whose writings are contained therein. For those who want to know if the Book of Mormon is indeed the word of God, I encourage you to read it, and sincerely pray and ask Heavenly Father if it is true. That is exactly what I did - and now I know the answer for myself! Show more Show less
