Hi I'm Mick

Join the church when I was 20, served a mission in Indiana a year later. Now, a almost divorced father of 2. I am a Mormon.

About Me

As mentioned, I was born in Minneapolis. After my parents divorce, mom, my sister, and I moved to Eau Claire, WI. My heart is there. Moved to Hollywood, FL, and joined the church there. 13 months and 3 weeks later, I was on a mission. Ended up in Daytona Beach, got married, earned my BS at UF (Go Gators), back to Daytona. Now, almost a single dad. I am underemployed now, but I am working on that. Trusting in my Father in Heaven, blessing will come.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I love my Heavenly Father. He is real and alive. Many churches have great and wonder truths, but the LDS church has the fullness of the gospel. It has kept me on the straight path to my Heavenly Father. It has kept me from going wayward and helps me in reaching my goals. It has helped me, especially the past few year, in the very dark and tough times. Many times I have looked back and seen the single row of footprints. I know He loves me, even when I don't think I deserve it. I know when I sin, and sometime I do it deliberately, I can turn to Him and His Son. I envision the Savior suffering for me. For me, drops of blood, because my stupidity. But, repentance is possible for all who have faith and come onto Christ. The Church the Savior set up is real, living thing. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love reading the scriptures and praying. I teach that to my kids every night I have them. I have had many callings, mostly in the youth (YM presidency, Scoutmaster). Now I am in the Elders Quorum Presidency. But, my favorite thing is to organize ward activity night, which we have every 2nd Friday of the month. We have fun, whether it is a small or large group (karaoke are the biggest). It is an opportunity to invite friends out to show we are not Bible thumpers. We have ordinary lives like the rest of the world. That is what brought me to the gospel in Hollywood, FL, with the YSA group. Hasten the work...
