Hi I'm James

Japan born, California raised. Serving a 2 year mission in the Japan Kobe mission. I love snowboarding and surfing.

About Me

Hey, I'm James. I was born in Sapporo Japan, but moved to California before I could remember. I'm Northern California raised and the oldest of three kids. Surfing, Snowboarding, and pretty much anything to do with a board and some sort of movement is my forte. I'm currently serving as a full time missionary in the Japan Kobe Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

There's a certain stage in everyone's life where they need to figure for themselves what's the purpose of life. As a kid, I went through all the motions of being a Mormon because my parents expected it from me. The past couple years have changed that. For me it's been a challenging transition from adolescence into adulthood full of instability and trials. During this tumultuous time, I realized I couldn't keep being Mormon if the only reason was to appeal to my parents. I decided I had to find out if this was something I actually wanted to do; if following the doctrine and principles taught in the gospel would really bless my life. After making several lifestyle changes to align myself with the doctrine taught in this church, I've found that I've become happier. I've attained a peace and comfort I've never had before. Not a superficial kind of happy, but something solid and unchanging. I`ve found we all have a second chance. I've found that God really does care for all his children by giving us opportunities to grow and improve ourselves. I know there is a God. He has a personal relationship with each one of us. He loves us and he wants us to make the right decisions. He knows our struggles, our pains, our weaknesses. He loves us so much that he gave us agency, so that we may make our own choices and decide for ourselves if we want to follow him or not. He loves us so much that he sent his only begotten son to suffer the sins of all mankind. It is through his atoning sacrifice that we can become clean. We can become forgiven from all our mistakes, and after this life, to stand spotless before our maker. I love this gospel. I love this Church. I know it's true. I live it. I love it. I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I realize I`m not perfect, but I do my best to learn about Christ and apply his teachings into my life. I love it, I love sharing it. I love making people smile, Christ`s teachings are a great platform to help people to do so.
