Hi I'm Evan

I'm a newly baptized member of the church and I want to share my story.

About Me

I'm the youngest of four children. I like playing tennis and I work on a local farm. I like action stories, classic rock, modern rock and country music. I find old cars interesting as well as other things from past decades. I enjoy staying busy with work that is physically demanding.

Why I am a Mormon

The story of my conversion is how I believe every conversion should happen. I was introduced to the church, received a copy of the Book of Mormon, attended church activities, began attending on Sundays and received my testimony all before the missionaries taught me the first lesson. I first met a Mormon family at Christmas time 2012 when that family brought cookies over to my house and gave us the chance to become acquainted with them. What stuck out to me about this family became clear, it was the gospel. After seeing how it influenced them I began to seek the same. Eventually I was given my first book of Mormon and that began what will be a lifelong study of the restored gospel. As I was reading I noticed I didn’t feel the pressures of the day, I just felt calm. It was like I was reading something I knew before; there was a sense of familiarity. As I continued, I found a greater desire to learn and wanted to fully immerse myself in the truths as I learned them. Eventually I prayed about the Book of Mormon and got my answer. That began my lifelong pursuit to continue expanding my understanding and knowledge. As my testimony grew, I came to realize everything that Heavenly Father was doing for me as I tried to come close to Him and how these past few months of studying the gospel changed more for me than anything in the last 3 or 4 years. I decided that I wanted this for the rest of my life and I want to give others the chance to find the truth as I had. I’d like to bear testimony that heavenly father knows what we need and knows how to give it to us. With faith and a little work he will bless us and show us the way and I know conversion isn’t a destination but a journey. I know that this is the true church of Christ and we have all the restored privileges that go with it and I leave these things with you in the sacred name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

In my ward or "congregation" I hold the position of priest, and enjoy going out with our missionary's whenever I can. In addition to going out with the missionary's I home teach six families. I attend seminary before school every day. Living my faith to me means study the words of the prophets, old and new, and finding ways to apply their teachings to my every day life. The covenants i made at baptism, and the direction gain from them, are what I use to guide me through my daily life. I enjoy avidly reading and pondering the scriptures, and magnifying whatever task i am given in the church.
