Hi I'm Liz

I am a mom to four amazing kids, a quilt/fabric designer, author, musician, reader, baker, homemaker, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the type of person who likes to view the world through rose-tinted glasses. I love adventure and trying new things. For most of my life I've lived on the East Coast in the USA, but for 10 fabulous years, I lived in France/Switzerland and traveled all over Europe. It's where I learned to be a Mom, overcome challenges, and appreciate the beauty of this earth. It's also where I learned to quilt and craft. I am currently a designer in the quilt industry; designing quilts and fabric for quilting. I love to sew. And to see my drawings & paintings become printed fabric. I also love to teach others to sew and quilt, and spend my time doing so all over the country. Yet through all my adventures and all my travels, my favorite place to be is home. Laughing, talking, singing, dancing, baking, playing music, reading, and just being together with my family. Life really IS beautiful! In fact, it's rosy.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon since I was 8 years old and chose to be baptized. At the time, I knew the very basics. That God loved me, and wanted me to return to Him one day. That I could pray to Him, and he would hear and answer my prayers. But it wasn't until I grew older, as I continued to attend church and read the scriptures, that I was truly converted. I learned that my Father in Heaven not only wanted me to return to Him, but provided a wonderful and beautiful plan for us, truly a plan of happiness. He sent His Son, who redeemed us of our sins and died for us, that we might live again. I have read the Book of Mormon, multiple times now. Every time I learn something new, something I needed to help me in my own life. I sincerely prayed to know of its veracity. I wanted to know for myself, not because I'd been taught my whole life to believe. I received my answer, and I've never looked back; only forward. I know who I am; a child of God. I know why I am here; to learn and grow. And I know where I am going; back to my Father in Heaven. Have I had trials? Yes. Challenges? Yes. But each time, I knew, without a doubt, that I could turn to the Lord for help. He has guided my life in every aspect. I know that as I continue to live the commandments of God, worship Him, and strive to walk in His footsteps, I will continue to have peace and happiness in my life. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

To live my faith, I try every single day, to follow Christ's example. He truly taught us exactly how to be! Honest, patient, obedient, humble, diligent, with love and charity in our hearts. I strive to be like Him by following His commandments, reading His word in the scriptures, being honest in all that I do, and helping those in need. Through the church, I serve in the world's oldest and largest women's organization. It's wonderful and empowering to be part of such a legacy of amazing women! We learn from each other and help one another daily. We provide meals for the sick, clothing for those in need, and constant service to friends and neighbors. We learn from each other; how to become self-reliant, how to be prepared for natural disasters, and how to continue to grow spiritually. I have learned that in striving to be like Christ, we can experience true joy in our lives, and share that joy with others.
