Hi I'm Danica SheaLynn Bauer

I grew up in Arizona. Music is my life and I'm a Mormon

About Me

All my life, I have always loved music and photography. I barely was given the chance to play an instrument about two weeks before i moved to Arizona and that two weeks I had, is when I fell in love with playing the upright bass. I didn't have a chance to play for another three years and ever since then, its my favorite instrument to play. I also have taught myself to play the piano and the Native American Flutes and have learned to play a little bit of guitar and the English hand bells. I joined the International Children's Choir when I moved to Utah and was in the choir for and amazing 8 years. My first performance with the choir was Gordon B. Hinkley's 95th Birthday celebration. I have had so many once in a life time opportunities with the choir. Back in high school is was when I was introduced to the old fashion, develop your own film in a dark room photography. My father was the one who inspired me to take the class because I have always loved taking pictures, but doing film photography took me to a whole new level.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it has made me be the person that I am today. It has made me want to be a better person and to be an example to others. It has brought myself so much happiness and joy in my life and has taken away any doubts I have in life. It gives my a purpose in life. I was raised in the church and have always liked the feeling I get from living the way this church has been set up. Many people say that the LDS church is very restrictive and I completely understand where people see that. I have felt the same way at times, but when I look at my whole life and the "restrictions" that the church has given us, it has freed me from anything that would bring me down. For basics, the Word of Wisdom. I believe why the Word of Wisdom states not to do drugs, tobacco, or drink alcohol, coffee, and tea because these things are the top things that people become addicted to or become dependent on to go through your daily lives. To be dependent on something like these are the "restrictions" in life I know that this gospel is true and not just because of the doctrine is true, I know its true for what it does for people. People now have a purpose in life. They know that they are loved and if they are going through a hard time in life, they have the tools to have guidance in their lives to make it though their trial and learn from them and become stronger. I learned that very well when my parents went through their divorce. I had my low times and questioned if this was true. Those moments that made me question the truth of the gospel is where I got my answer and when I really gained my own testimony of this church. No one is perfect, but that's okay. Christ sacrificed himself so we would be saved. I have screwed up in my life and after the fact, I am actually glad in a way that I did. I learned through personal revelation that God does love me and knows that I am trying my best to do what is right. Its okay to mess up. We are all human after all.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is so crucial in my life. I used to be a special needs youth counselor for two years. I would go every week and spend time with the people who have special needs and disabilities and I would connect with them and become friends with them in the activities we would do. I have made so many friends in doing so and learned the love that God has for them and me. My most latest calling I have had in my church is in my young single adult ward. I was the co-chair of the music council. The chairman and I would organize the music for our meetings every Sunday. Loving music as much as I do, made this calling the best for me. We all know that music touches everyone and that with my calling, I was the one to bring peace and start every meeting with a warm calming feel that I know is, is the spirit.
