Hi I'm Matthew DeAngelo

I grew up in Utah. I am a ballroom dancer, and fan of mathematics. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in love with mathematics. Crazy, right? I find it so interesting because it is something I understand; something that is concrete that never changes. It can be used in so many ways to tell us about the world around us! Along with math, I like to ballroom dance. I was even on a team that competed, and we barely won first place! It was so close! Never have I loved a hobby more (Unless you consider math a hobby). I also enjoy making things out of duct tape. I have made a case to hold my scriptures and countless ties. I really enjoy making things that I can wear. Between math, ballroom, and duct tape I always have something to do!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. For all my life I grew up hearing about it, but never really believed. It never really hit me until my freshman year in high school. I had a mentor that was really in tune with the spirit. As I talked with him he taught me what it was like to feel the love of God. He taught me to read my scriptures, and to try to understand them. I grew to love the scriptures and its teachings. He taught me things that I use today. Recently, I have been having a hard time with my friends. I've hurt them and am now seeking their forgiveness. I felt so alone for the longest time, until I turned to my father in heaven. I have felt his love and his mercy as he calmed my troubled soul. I know this church is true. There is no other way I could have felt that peace in my heart. It has been rough, but I know God blesses his children that reach out to him. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I am involved in many church activities. On Sundays I take the sacrament around to the ward members that cannot get out of their houses. It is a privilege to see these wonderful people every week. On the weekdays, I am involved in the seminary program. Seminary is a class that is sponsored by the church for youth to attend. It is held before school and sometimes during school, but for only those that do not have class at that time. It is an uplifting experience to be able to visit a building that is filled with so much love after having a hard day. I am even a leader for the seminary. It is my job, along with ten others, to find activities for the students to participate in. Through this opportunity, I have grown so much, emotionally and spiritually.
