Hi I'm Nicole

I'm a college student. That comes with all it implies: studying, working, being with friends and still trying to get some sleep!

About Me

I am an all american girl (I've always wanted an excuse to say that). Some of the things I love are family, movies (biggest film geek ever), hiking, running, drawing and soccer. I have two brothers and two sisters who I am extremely close with. I am the second youngest child. Starting in fall of 2014 I will be serving a full time LDS mission in the Chile Concepcion South Mission. Then I plan on attending college and majoring in Graphic Design.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I had the choice to remain active or not when I became old enough. When I was 10 my mom had major struggled with mental illness which caused many painful things to happen in my family life, at this time I was praying everyday for strength to get through a hard trial. Many miracles happened to help our family through that time. I know it is because of Jesus Christ and the priesthood authority on the earth today. We truly are never alone. A few years ago I started to wonder if i really was born into a true church, which eventually led me to not having a desire to attend church weekly anymore. I didn't want to attend a church mainly because my parents wanted me to (classic teenage angst). My life was ultimately going in a miserable direction. Eventually I repented and attended church regularly again. This time without the gospel in my life was dark and unhappy. I will never live without the light of Jesus Christ in my life again. This experience proved to me the truth of our gospel. I had to ask for myself if it was true. I had to pray for forgiveness and received the warmest sweetest feeling. Heavenly Father does love us. It makes me so happy that I want to share it with others as a full-time missionary. I know that Joseph Smith restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. This church is based off of the teachings of Christ who died to save us all and suffered all our pains and sins so we can rise again after death. I have felt the healing power of Christ's atonement in struggles I can't control and sins I've committed. Christ's love is real. I have felt his warmth and eternal grace. I know that families can be together forever and that my mom will be healed from her mental illness one day. Anyone can know this by following the simple request of the prophet Thomas S. Monson to read the Book of Mormon and pray to your Father in Heaven to know the truth. Truth brings true happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in four simple ways: I attend church every Sunday to partake of the sacrament. This brings me so much happiness in my life to be able to use the atonement every week and start a fresh new week. I pray to my Heavenly Father throughout the day. Whether it is losing my keys, or expressing pure gratitude my Father in Heaven always helps me in my life. I read my scriptures. The Bible and The Book of Mormon only build my testimony of Christ. It is amazing how listening to them on my iPhone or studying them verse by verse helps me to keep the promises I have made with God. I attend the temple. The beauty of the lessons our Father in Heaven teaches in the temple bless my life the most of all these. I know that we have a loving God because of temple ordinances.
