Hi I'm Jared

I'm an Environmental Engineering Student. I like small town life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy being outside. I like to garden along with my wife, and experiment trying to grow plants that you wouldn't normally grow in Utah. I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, backpacking, golf, and running. If you can do it outside, chances are i'll enjoy it. I also enjoy movies and cooking new things with my wife's help. I am a college student studying Environmental Engineering. One day i'd like to be a successful engineer and live in South Eastern Utah where my wife and I both grew up.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I feel it is right. I know with all of my heart that the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored through Joseph Smith. I know that once again the pure and perfect teaching of Christ have been restored in their entirety. I know that revelation continues to this day and that because of this, doctrinal issues do not need to be discussed and decided by councils of men, but instead direction can be given directly from God to his chosen servants upon the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and as such is a direct evidence that Joseph Smith was indeed a true prophet of God and that today The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is in fact the true church of Jesus Christ. I know that all who desire to learn of these things for themselves will also discover them to be true by asking God whether or not they are true. He will testify to you of His own work. I know this to be true, and I declare it in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

My faith shows itself in my personal values. I do not go out of my way to show my religious beliefs, nor do I try and exhibit myself as being better than others; however, if you ask me to do something that goes against my personal values you'll never get me to do it. I genuinely enjoy attending to religious responsibilities such as home teaching where I and a companion visit several families in the neighborhood, share short messages with them, and offer to serve them in anyway we can. I also enjoy working with the ward mission in befriending those who are of our faith and feel unwelcome and also sharing about our faith with those who are unfamiliar with it and interested in learning more.
