Hi I'm Sandy

I love to celebrate and have fun. I was a special ed teacher. I love kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in a Pennsylvanian mining town. My father was a coal miner. I am an avid reader, and I love to learn new things from the books that I read. I have a two year college degree and the Lord directed me into the teaching profession. I taught in special education for 27 years and loved working with the students. I'm grateful for the lessons I learned in special ed, and the way it influenced my life. I'm now retired and love to celebrate life and have fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because my husband introduced me to the gospel. He helped me strengthen my faith so much. When I began to take the lessons from the missionaries they were exciting and motivated me to change. I really like the way that the church is centered on the family, because my family means so much to me. I have since lost my husband, but I find peace in the fact that I know I will be able to see him again. The knowledge of eternal families is a powerful thing, especially in my life. Losing my husband has been hard, but I know the Lord gives me trials for a reason. My faith and my testimony that families can be together forever is what gets me through the rough times. My gospel centered life is a blessing to me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending regular church meetings, and reading my scriptures. I find recording my thoughts a useful tool. Through my journal writing and scripture study, I progress in the gospel. I find joy while serving the Lord. I am His helping hands. One of Christ's greatest attributes was service and charity. I love following Christ's example by serving and loving my family and friends. I love the scripture in the Book of Mormon about service, "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." - Mosiah 2:17 One way that I love to serve is working with the local sister missionaries in my area. It strengthens my testimony to see the gospel in action.
