Hi I'm Madeline Walton

I'm attending Brigham Young University. I'm entering the MTC on September 11 to serve in the Scotland/Ireland mission. I'm Mormon

About Me

I'm currently attending Brigham Young University and hope to Major in something remotely awesome so I can make a difference in my community. I enjoy the simple things in life. My family is the most important thing in my life. I love the arts, specifically theater and dance. I am also an avid sports fan, Go Cougars! I love making others happy, seeing their joy brings me joy in a way I can't find anywhere else. I'm grateful for my family and close friends. But mostly grateful for my testimony of the church. I love the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I love Christ and want to return to live with Him someday. He's done too much for me to not strive to be like Him. I know that no matter what trial He will always be there for me in ways that nobody else can be. I have a firm testimony of Joseph Smith and the Restoration of the Gospel of Christ. I believe that it is true because I have seen it change my life and others around me. I believe in this gospel and want to share it so others can hear the good news that I have. It's changed my life, and I know it can change others as well.

How I live my faith

I've served in various callings throughout my youth in the Young Women's presidencies, as the Activities Committee Co-Chair in the Provo 4th Stake 56th Ward, an Indexing Committee member, and will begin my greatest calling as a missionary on September 11, 2014. Although these are all great callings, I strive to live my faith most by my example to others, If I can exemplify Christ to the best of my ability I think that is the most accurate and efficient way to live my faith.

What is the First Vision?

Madeline Walton
The First Vision is the event that started the entire Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. God and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and answered his prayers that none of the denominations on earth at that time were true. They told Joseph that he would bring the true gospel back to the earth through their help and power. I know my answer is short, but I just can't really express all the First Vision means adequately. The First Vision is the event that gave me my testimony. I was born into the church, but I was "converted" because of the First Vision. I am so grateful for it because I know that without it I wouldn't have this beautiful gospel in my life and I would be missing a big part of me. When God and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith so many years ago and told him he would be the one to restore the gospel I'm sure he was over-whelmed. But it amazes me that he took on the challenge and restored the gospel of Christ. I am so grateful. Show more Show less
