Hi I'm Nicole

I grew up in the beach town of Santa Cruz, CA and I currently reside in Lodi, CA with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife to my high school sweet heart and mother to our sweet 3 year old son. I grew up in small beach town of Santa Cruz, California until I moved to Lodi at the age of 17, where I met my husband at our high school. We married in 2008 and had our son in 2011. I love to travel. Any chance we get, all three of us packs up and gets away! I love to write. I have been blogging for 6 years now and absolutely love it. It allows me to not only express myself, but also to keep a "journal" of our life. I love to run. I have ran several 5k's, a 10k, a Tough Mudder, and a half marathon. Running not only keeps me physically healthy, but mentally healthy as well. I am so blessed that I get to be a SAHM to our son. I really am living out my dream!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised with the Catholic faith. Despite my parents giving me a healthy foundation of God, Jesus Christ, and Heaven, we we're the type that only went to church on "special occasions" (Christmas & Easter), never studied the bible at home, and only prayed before Christmas and Easter dinner. When I met my husband 10 years ago, I knew he was Mormon but I didn't really know what that meant. I didn't have any Mormon friends growing up. The more I started to spend time with his family, the more I learned about the church, their beliefs, history, and culture. I was always intrigued and wanted to know more. Over the next 10 years, I learned more and more about the church. Even though I felt deep down that the church had so much truth in it, I didn't "pursue" it because my families beliefs and my husband was less active. Then about 3 months ago I had a dream. A dream that gave me a clear answer. I really felt that Heavenly Father was speaking directly to me and telling me the answer. A couple weeks after having my dream, sister missionaries came to our door. They started teaching me and my husband would sit in every lesson with me. Not only was I learning about the gospel, but my husband was getting somewhat of a "refresher". I decided I wanted to be baptized and on March 8th, 2014, I was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Besides marrying my husband and the birth of our son, it was one of the happiest days of my life.

How I live my faith

Our family attends church at our local ward every Sunday. Since I am a new convert, I don't have any callings yet. I attend all the Relief Society activities I can and also have the missionaries over for dinner when we can. I plan on starting my family history work very soon. I study my scriptures every morning before starting my day and pray as often as I can. I look forward to all the service and work that I can offer to the community in the near future.
