Hi I'm Katelyn Baird

I grew up in Heber, the most beautiful valley in the state of Utah. I love the outdoors and wildlife. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Some of my hobbies include basketball, softball, deer and pheasant hunting, and doing service! I love helping brighten people's days. I have one brother who is a Disney fanatic and he's very good at designing and drawing (two skills I don't have). I have just gotten my associates degree, and I have no idea what I want to go into yet- all I know is I want to be a mom and have a family someday.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because I know the principles the church teaches are true. It's the only church on the earth today with prophets and apostles, eternal families, the priesthood, the Book of Mormon (scripture meant for our day- today!), and so much more! This church brings you more happiness than you can possibly imagine. So why am I a Mormon? Because it makes me happier than anything else ever could.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the greatest! I live my faith by going to church every Sunday, planned activities throughout the week, and by doing things on my own. I live my faith by trying to be like our Savior, Jesus Christ, every single day of the week- so I try to do an act of service for Him most every day. I am also living my faith by serving an LDS mission where I will dedicate 18 months to the Lord in Bolivia! I cannot be more excited to share my knowledge with others.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Katelyn Baird
There are no secrets in the temple. The reason we don't talk about what goes on inside is because it is sacred. Not secret, sacred. It is very important to us, so we don't talk about it casually. You have to be a worthy member of the Church of Jesus Christ to enter the temple- that's what makes the temple even more special. Not just anyone can go in, they have to be worthy, clean, and pure to enter God's holy house. Marriages take place inside the temple- but not just "until death do you part", when married in the temple you are sealed for time and ALL eternity! Temple marriages make it possible for you to be with your family forever. There are also other ordinances that go on inside the temple. Show more Show less
