Hi I'm Jacob

I love bow ties, bikes and cool mountains. I'm going on a mission to Chile. And... drumroll... I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the Student Body President of my high school. I run varsity track and cross country. I ride bikes - mountain, road, fixie. I have Harry Potter glasses. I wear, make, design and sell bow ties. My biggest hesitation with going on a mission is that I can't wear bow ties. Just kidding, I just don't know how to tie a normal neck tie. I love my friends and doing exciting things with them. They are fantastic and have really rooted me to the gospel. My family is the bomb. I am a big environmental guy. I want to change the way people appreciate the world so we respect it more. I spend a ton of time outdoors and know that conservation and efficient use of energy is crucial. People tease me because I am an avid recycler. I have a "love sac" made out of old bike tires and stuffed with garbage (clean garbage, not the gross food stuff). I garden, compost, and eat lots of tomatoes. I love the earth and the people on it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church by goodly parents but have to come to believe and know of its truth on my own. I have a simple testimony that Jesus Christ is my older brother. He lives. He loves me. His church was restored by Joseph Smith at a chosen time so the saints can bring His brothers and sisters to Him to live eternally in heaven. Our Heavenly Father is benevolent and loves each of us individually. I love this gospel. I am so blessed to be a member of this church. My faith grows every day. I love Him. I am grateful to be part of it!

How I live my faith

I was recently called on the Chile Osorno mission, and I am so excited! I can't wait to serve. I study my scriptures, write in my journal, and pray daily. There is still so much more I can do!

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

The missionaries are like your new best friends if they come to your home! They are there to help you and to communicate to you the love our Heavenly Father has for you. Missionaries serve missions because they want to share their love for the gospel with YOU! They will teach you about Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness which gives us the opportunity we have to live with Him again. Show more Show less
