Hi I'm Jennifer Martinez

I am originally from Mexico, but lived most of my life in Houston, Texas. I am a Mormon.

About Me

The things I love more than anything in the world are my family and the Gospel. My hobbies are singing, dancing, and playing volleyball. I also enjoy planning activities and events. I am currently a freshmen in college and will hopefully will be majoring in Business Management.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad baptized into the church at the age of 18 before being married. Later he found my mom, whom baptized after I was born. Besides my parents, whom are active members, my three sibling and I, no one else in our family is a member. Being the only Mormons in our family is a challenge, nevertheless I know I am in the true church. When I was seven years old, after a rough experience I had the holy ghost testify to me of the the love my Heavenly Father has for me and that I was exactly where I needed to be. It is no coincidence my family is in this country or that I am a member of this church, I know I am simply an instrument in the hands of my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I like to be an example to others in any way I can which is why I love doing service with teens. I feel that teenagers sometimes need someone that had been in their shoes tell them about the amazing potential they have and to know that our Heavenly Father knows their great potential and has so many great things prepared for them. I have loved working with young men and women and organizing conferences for them to learn an have fun because I know activities like this make an impact in their lives.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Jennifer Martinez
Our bodies are sacred and being modest shows that we have respect for our bodies and for ourselves. Dressing modestly helps us to have the spirit with us and let's others know we deserve to be respected. As we respect ourselves others will respect us. If the the person you're with really loves you then he will respect you enough and reserve physical intimacy for marriage. Parents can teach their children to be modest in dress, language, and behavior by teaching them through example and showing them how being modest connotes respect towards and for oneself.
