Hi I'm Kandace

I'm a teacher. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to the love of my life going on four years, with eternity to look forward to. I am a mom to a feisty 18 month old. She is my mini-me through and through! I have a BA in English Literature and a secondary teaching credential (high school level) in English. I LOVE to read! If I get my hands on a really good book I can't put it down! I love going to Art museums and seeing the beauty of the earth captured in paints. I love watching movies with my family! And I love going for walks in the hills by my house.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I had a testimony and faith that it was true, but it wasn't until I was 13 that I really found out for myself that this really is the ONLY true and complete church of Christ. I was going through a really hard time in my life where I felt alone. My cousin happened upon my journal where I expressed all of these thoughts of feeling alone and depressed. What she read really concerned her and she went to my mom. My mom and dad read over my journal entries and talked to me about them for a few hours that same day. Towards the end of the discussion my asked me a very simple question: "Do you believe in the atonement of Jesus Christ?" I didn't know how to answer her. I had faith in it, but I had never really asked and found out for my self. So I answered, "I don't know." My parents then left me on my own to pray and ponder. This is the first time I ever remember asking the Father if His church was true and if the atonement of His Son was real. I immediately felt His love for me and received the answer that this was the true church and that the atonement was real. The feelings of loneliness started to dissipate and were replaced with feelings of love and peace. I know with out a shadow of a doubt that this is Christ's true and only church upon the face of this earth. I know that the Lord talks to men today and that those men that he has called receive revelation for us today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving faithfully in the church whether it is taking meals to families in need or babysitting for couples in our area, I love to serve. I participate in our yearly Beautification Service Project where we do different things that helps to maintain our city's beauty.
