Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm from California's central coast. I make music and study economics at UPenn. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Living in California made it easy for me to love the outdoors. I grew up hiking, surfing, snowboarding, backpacking, kayaking, climbing, and longboarding as a means to explore the Golden State and adventure with my friends and family. I somehow found myself studying mathematics and economics on the East Coast, and when I manage to find time I like to salsa dance and make electronic music. I'm lucky enough to have seven brothers, one sister, and two wonderful parents.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith has come far more through personal experiences than through ontological endowment. I am a Mormon because the greatest lasting sources of happiness I have felt in my life originated from doctrines of the gospel of this church. I am a Mormon because after carefully reading the Book of Mormon, I prayed to God asking of its truthfulness, and was validated by a feeling of confirmation and love. I am a Mormon because I can think of nothing more beautiful than eternal marriage and family. I am a Mormon because I know that following the teachings of Christ and His prophets is the only way for me to become the best version of myself and reach my divine potential.

How I live my faith

I will soon leave on a two year mission to Argentina, where I will have the opportunity to spend all of my time sharing my faith and serving local communities. As I was raised in the church, I have had many opportunities to prepare me for the same kind of work I will encounter on my mission. I have been in several leadership positions that have allowed me to share my beliefs and serve my own community. Most recently, I was the Latter Day Saint Student Association co-chair at my university and had the opportunity to participate in activities that helped others learn more about the church. I try to live my faith such that my commitment to Jesus Christ is relevant every day. I know that the only way to live to my potential is to come to a better understanding of what my Heavenly Father wants of me, and thus strengthening my relationship with Him is an essential priority.
