Hi I'm Carisa

I'm a student studying nutrition and exercise science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student earning two bachelor's of science degrees. I'm an aunt to five awesome kids. I love to dance, hike, shoot skeet, play softball, go four-wheeling, rollerblading, camping, fishing, and love anything active and outdoors. As much as I love all these things, I will always love the Gospel of Jesus Christ the most.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by faithful Mormon parents that attended church each Sunday and participated in many church activities throughout the week. Growing up I was taught the principles of the gospel and had many opportunities, all of which eventually helped me to build my own personal testimony. Throughout the years, I witnessed family members and friends who decided not to follow the principles of the gospel for various reasons, many of which eventually fell away from the church. I watched how their lives were impacted by the loss of the Spirit as their constant companion. When I left home to attend college, I was fortunate enough to have many tough and wonderful experiences which tested the limits of my faith and required me to truly find out for myself what it meant to have a testimony. Because of these experiences, I have learned (and continue to learn) what the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about. I have felt the peace and exquisite joy that can come from no other source than our Savior and Redeemer, even Jesus Christ. This is why I am a Mormon. I know it, I live it, I love it.

How I live my faith

The church offers so many wonderful opportunities to be involved in serving within the church as well as the local community. I am currently serving as a family home evening coordinator in my young single adult ward. This calling has been so much fun for me, as I get to plan awesome activities for the members of my ward to participate in each week. I have also been lucky enough to receive my call to serve as a missionary in the Texas Houston South Mission. I am so excited for the opportunity to teach the people of Texas the message of the restored gospel and to help them find the joy and peace that the gospel has brought into my own life.
