Hi I'm Nathan Kearsley

I am a student at BYU-Idaho studying Public Relations and Video Production and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Victor, a small town in Eastern Idaho. I love the outdoors, especially the mountains. I love to ride horses, hike, and play sports. I have served and LDS mission in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission from 2008-2010. This time serving The Lord has helped me to come to know my Savior and my Heavenly Father personally and more fully. I love the opportunity I have had to study at BYU-Idaho. It is a place were The Lord's spirit is not only in church meetings but in the classroom as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which had a major influence as to how I know this to be the church of God on the earth. At the end of my teenage years I grew uncertain whether what I was being taught was true or not. I had been taught for years in church meetings, but I had never personally read The Book of Mormon or sincerely prayed to know if what it taught, and what I had been taught for years of the Bible, The Book of Mormon, of modern prophets was true. It was not until I truly sought an answer to what was true that I gained a testimony that this is The Church of God here on the earth. It took many weeks of continual prayer, and humbling myself, until I sought only to know what was true. I believed what I read to be true, but I asked God to tell me what was true. If what I read was true, I would follow the things I had been taught more diligently But if God said that it was not true, I would seek the truth in a different church. When I came to this mindset of simply wanting to know what was true, and being willing to act on this truth did I gain a testimony that The Book of Mormon is true, and the things that it teaches is true. From that time forward I have been able to continue to build a stronger testimony that is continually growing. I know that God Lives and Jesus in The Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God, and that Thomas S. Monson is The Lord's prophet today, just as Abraham or Moses was a prophet of The Lord.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through daily prayer and scripture study. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and to serve in many callings, or responsibilities in the church. I have served as a teacher, a record keeper, as clerks and in other positions. It is a blessing to serve in The church and to serve others. I also have the opportunity to serve in caring for other members, visiting them in their homes and helping see that they are doing well.
