Hi I'm Jason

I am a Senior in High School. I love this Gospel with all my fervor! I'm preparing to serve a mission for the Lord in Arizona!

About Me

I am from the United States, but my parents were born in Nicaragua. I currently live with my Aunt and Uncle in Utah along with seven other cousins. I like to exercise and bushcraft, but I also like to read and play the violin. I have a profound and eternal gratitude for the Lord and His hand in my life. He's helped and provided for me through the many challenges I've faced, and I love Him for that. I've been called to serve as a missionary in the Arizona Tempe mission, and am so excited to serve as His representative!

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was twelve. I already was familiar with the church because my aunt and uncle are members, and when the missionaries came to my house to teach, I received their discussions, and ultimately felt prompted to join this wonderful dispensation. Both of my parents are not LDS, my mother is a devout Catholic while my father is agnostic. My dad supported me more than my mom in my life-altering decision, but both were fine with it. Additionally, my grandmother who lived with us at the time was super adhesive towards her Catholic ideologies, and as such I received a little opposition and criticism from her. I didn't really begin going to church until I was 14, when I moved in with my LDS aunt and uncle because of some poor decisions on my behalf. As I said, my parents were all right with my decision to be baptized, but we lived in a two-bedroom apartment with five people living in it, one of which was a diabetic with Kidney failure; so my parents were busy working and taking care of said incapacitated individual. They didn't have much time, or desire really, to devote to my religious wants. Nevertheless, the Lord's hand was ever present when it came time to move to Utah with my relatives. I am eternally grateful for the Lord's infinite Atonement: His love, His mercy, His grace. All we need to do is be humble enough to accept what He offers! I know that He lives, that He has a plan for us, that He wants what is best for us, that he doesn't do anything for us except it be for our benefit, and above all, I know that we have a very real Heavenly Father who loves and adores each one of us uncomprehendingly. In His sacred name, even Jesus Christ our redeemer, Amen.

How I live my faith

Everyday I say my prayers, and I enjoy reading scriptures. I attend seminary to increase my understanding of the doctrine of this Gospel, and I pray for the Lord to provide me with opportunities to serve. I try to be like Christ: Displaying empathy, charity, mercy, and love as best as I can. I home teach and I go to church every Sunday, as well as mutual every Wednesday. Also, I assist a missionary preparation course so as to get ready for my mission. I know I am not perfect, but I try as best as I can.
