Hi I'm Kayla

I'm a returned missionary from the Fukuoka Japan Mission. I love singing, dancing and acting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and it has had a tremendous influence in my life. My faith and testimony Jesus Christ has helped me overcome challenges, understand my purpose and value, and has blessed me with immense peace. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow throughout our lives. I enjoy anything that has to do with music, theater and dance. I served for 18 months as a missionary in Fukuoka Japan. As a missionary I had the opportunity to share my testimony and faith of Jesus Christ as our Savior and help people commit to living His teachings and receive blessings. I have since returned home from my mission, a senior at Brigham Young University in the Elementary Education program.

Why I am a Mormon

I have prayed to know of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and this Gospel, as well as the reality of Jesus Christ as my Savior and the Atonement He made for me; and the Spirit has born witness to me that these things are true. Through small, and simple experiences I have recognized blessings in my life from following God's teachings. Through these experiences I have gained a testimony that this church is true. I know the Book of Mormon to be a true, additional witness of Jesus Christ. I know He is our Savior and as we receive forgiveness of sins and strength to overcome weaknesses, we can find true joy and purpose. Jesus Christ helps us change so we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again, united as families.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being receptive to the God's Spirit, which provides comfort, direction, and peace in my life. As a missionary I relied on this Spirit to help me understand peoples' needs as I taught them important principles of Jesus Christ's gospel. As a returned missionary, and member of this church, I rely on that same Spirit to guide me in unique or everyday challenges. As I pray, study the scriptures and attend church meetings, I feel God's influence and guidance increase. I am able to become more patient, hopeful, diligent and loving. As I follow His instruction, I am happy. I can recognize that God has a plan for me that helps me grow and reach my potential. I have made sacred promises with God that, in a sense, bind me to him; my obedience to His instruction allows me to receive greater blessings. I guess simply, I try to do what God wants me to do!
