Hi I'm Rea Skelton

I was born in raised in Alberta, Canada with Church roots go back generations. I a widow, 5 children, 12 grandchildren.

About Me

Hi, my name is Rea. I was born into the LDS faith but had to gain a testimony for myself. I am 66, a widow with 5 children and 12 wonderful grandchildren. My hobbies are volunteering in schools ( I was a school teacher), exercising, gardening ( when the weather is OK - I live in Canada). I love to travel, love to learn.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has told my soul that the gospel is true and contains the fullness of Christ's teachings. True and lasting eternal happiness is gained by living its principles. I try to do my best knowing I even as I try, I fall short but will keep on trying. I know that the Book of Mormon and the other scriptures are the word of God and find much peace and direction from reading and studying them. Although I grew up in the Church, I had gone through a real hard time when I was 22 and knelt and prayed with all earnestness of heart to know if there was a God and if the Church was true. I had such a burning in my bosom and such a sense of peace come over me. I know the Church is true, with all my heart I know it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching the 7 - 8 year olds in Primary. I love my little class. I do family history work and especially love to research and write stories about my ancestors. I like to gather food storage and help out at dry pack canning when the need extra help. I support all the activities - the gospel really has something for everyone and its a lot of fun. I like to help others.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

I love my family who came before me who did not have the opportunity to hear the gospel on this earth, I want them to have all I have. Show more Show less
