Hi I'm Elder Aaron Peterson

I am from New Hampshire born and raised, I love to travel, to cook and to sail. I volunteer for special Olympics. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I work in food service as I prepare and save money to serve a full time mission for the church. I enjoy sailing and to travel the world! I come from a large family of whom I am the only member of the church. I Have been called to serve in the France Lyon Mission from OCT, 2014-OCT,2016 Where I will be sharing the gospel that I love in the French language.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon for the reason that I have found the love of Christ in his church. I have prayed and studied to know what is right and I have found love in the church. I know that my father in. Heaven loves me and that he loves all who are on this earth. We are all his children and we are here to experience life, to make mistakes and to grow from them. To learn from them and progress from them :) We are here to learn love and joy, I used to dwell in sorrow and pain until I recently discovered that we need to feel pain and to hurt and to be sad otherwise how could any of us know what happiness is, we need to experience these things to learn love. Love is why we are here and I know that Christ loves us and even when we feel hurt and alone When we feel alone and in despair, Christ is there for us, he knows the pain and he has felt it. I know he wants us to be have joy, for that reason he is always there for us. We can always turn to him. And because if this love and this knowledge. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the scriptures and following the examples set for me in the Scriptures. I live while trying to build Christlike attributes and loving all those around me, even though it can be very difficult at times I do my best and I know that is all my father in heaven expects of me. I go through my days seeking opportunity to serve and love my fellow man. I live trying to prepare to fulfill my full time mission and to fulfill the callings I have in church, including helping members strengthen their faith and to conduct a Mission prep class for my fellow youth.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Elder Aaron Peterson
We must receive a physical body in order for us to grow spiritually and emotionally. We must make mistakes and have trials and feel pain for in those things we are able to Endure well and grow and learn and become happy, we must learn to make the right choices to grow closer to our Heavenly Father We all make mistakes but through those we become better. We are also here to form family's and to grow with each other so we are able to be eternally sealed as a unit in the presence of Heavenly Father together forever. Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Elder Aaron Peterson
We believe that the prophet is called by God, we do not hold an election process as other churches do. Basically people pray about who to give callings in the church and in this way we believe they are inspired to be called, and when someone is called to the quorum of the 12 Apostles they remain there. When the prophet dies the one who has been in the quorum for the longest time then becomes the next prophet. So we believe he is chosen by The Lord because of the time he is called into the lower position and because they have lived for the appropriate amount of time to have been the senior apostle.
