Hi I'm Austin

I grew up in Virginia and I am studying computer engineering, I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was a rower in high school, I am studying computer engineering at Brigham Young University. I like to play ultimate frisbee, and I recently recently received my mission call to the Guadalajara East mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I report the Missionary Training Center on May 14th, 2014.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and I learned from my parents about the gospel. I know that this church is true, and that it is here in the latter days to guide everyone back to Christ, He is our redeemer, and has suffered for us through the atonement so we can receive a remission for our sins. I know that only through Christ can we return to live with our Father in Heaven. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to serve a full time mission to the Lord

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church, and reading the scriptures everyday to increase my understanding of the gospel. I am not perfect in my understanding of the gospel, but I strive to learn as much as I can. I previously had a position in our church teaching others how to do family history work, which is a good way to see who my ancestors are, and what they did.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Austin
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or Mormons, celebrate the same holidays that just about everyone celebrates. When we dress up for church it is in "Sunday best" which is mostly just white shirts for guys, and dresses or skirts for women. We celebrate Christmas, Easter, and most other holidays. That are celebrated Show more Show less
