Hi I'm Bart

My wife and I are parents of 8 children. We live in Florida and totally love it. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to cook, especially pizza and homemade ice cream. While I am busy running a company that has locations throughout the US, I am also a father who loves to be in the lives of his children. So every chance I get I make sure that my schedule is kept free to be at track meets, choir concerts, scouting activities, and field trips. Our family also loves to go to Tampa Bay Rays baseball games. It is fun to be together.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and grandparents and even some of my great-grand parents were members of the Church. However, that is not why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because many years ago, I read the Book of Mormon and I asked Heavenly Father whether the Book and all that surrounds it were indeed true. Whether Joseph Smith was and is a prophet. The sweet feelings that I felt at that time could only come from a loving Father who knew my heart and knew me. I have been through many trials since that time, but my testimony has only grown stronger as I have come to understand that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. Through following Him, my life has meaning and happiness, no matter what is going on around me.

How I live my faith

Besides all of the work and family events that I participate in, I have been called to serve in the leadership (Stake Presidency) of the church in the Tampa area. This means that I get to visit with members from around the area and help them better their lives. I have specific responsibility for 4 congregations (we call them wards) and several of them are either completely Spanish speaking or have several Spanish speaking members. It is awesome to be able to speak Spanish again after having served a mission for the Church in Colombia many years ago. I also have responsibility for the youth programs which means that I have an excuse to be a kid again. How I love the amazing youth we have in the Tampa area. One of the other responsibilities that I have is to plan opportunities for members to participate in community events where we can help serve our friends and neighbors. It is amazing to see all of the great people in this community. So much good is done for others, much of which goes unheralded.
