Hi I'm Brenda

I am a mother of four from East Tennessee. I work as an adult therapist in rural community mental health and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've just begun my career as an adult therapist, a dream that I held for over 30 years. I stayed at home to raise my four children before going back to graduate school a few years ago. I love the outdoors and have been a Boy Scout volunteer for over 20 years. I love to camp with my family, especially at the beach. I worked in a domestic violence shelter for 12 years and love helping people to find a better way of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon over 30 years ago when my husband and I were first married after meeting missionaries who shared the message of the restored gospel with us. I knew from the start that the things they taught rang true in my heart and was especially moved by the idea that families can be together forever. The LDS church has given my life meaning and purpose and has guided my husband and I as we raised our four children. Through times of joy and times of adversity, the gospel of Jesus Christ has been the cornerstone of our lives and given us tools to grow together and strengthen our relationships and help us to become the kind of people we want to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by letting my values lead every choice I make. My faith has taught me the value of every person and that we are all children of our Heavenly Father. My faith teaches me to draw close to my family, because I want to spend eternity with them. I am comforted by the knowledge that Heavenly Father loves me always, even when I don't deserve it, and Jesus Christ is my loving friend and Savior. My church experiences have allowed me to serve adults, young people, and children in many different capacities. Recently, I teach the children music about Heavenly Father and Jesus and enjoy this immensely.
