Hi I'm Dave

I'm a mechanical engineer and a Bishop in a local congregation. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in South Florida for nearly 20 years. I live here because I enjoy the diversity that comes from the many nationalities represented in this area. I enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking, golfing, ultimate frisbee, running, boating, canoeing, and hanging at the beach on occasion. I work as a Mechanical Engineer at a major communications company in the area. I've been happily married nearly 22 years and I am a proud father of 4 beautiful children.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in high school in Boston, Massachusetts, I struggled to find answers to questions like, "Who am I?" and "What's my purpose and future in life?" My association in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints led to good friendships with other youth in my congregation. I also had inspired teachers and leaders that helped me succeed in reaching my goals. One Sunday School teacher in particular helped me feel and recognize the confirming influence of the Holy Ghost as she taught truths about the Savior and our purposes on earth. That inspired me to want to read the scriptures more and to depend on my Heavenly Father for assistance. To this day, I continue to find gems in various passages that touch my heart as I focus on leading my family and on serving others.

How I live my faith

I am presently volunteering as the Bishop of a local congregation. Our members are friendly and welcoming to new comers. I appreciate the personal triumphs that individuals share with me and I cry with them when they need someone to understand their difficulties. I draw a significant amount of strength from others. I've learned, in order to help others be strong, I need to be be living in such a way that helps me be personally strong. This means studying the scriptures every day and sharing my throughts and concerns with my Heavenly Father regularly through sincere personal prayer. Maintaining a good relationship with my immediate family helps significantly in this regard. Being around people who desire to live high standards inspires hope and brings a great deal of happiness in my life.
