Hi I'm Eric

I grew up in Midvale, Utah. I will be serving in the Quito Ecuador Mission. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am playing college soccer and I will put my scholarship on hold for two years to serve the people of Ecuador. I love exercising and playing every sport, and I hate to lose. I like to get outdoors and explore the wonderful world that surrounds me with my buddies! I have a passion for naps and doughnuts! One thing I love doing is getting a new copy of the Book of Mormon and studying it (i.e. highlighting, underlining, etc) with the purpose of giving it to someone else.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy it brings to me as well as the love that I feel from other members. In high school I did not have a strong testimony of the church and of Jesus Christ but I did make plenty of mistakes and could never seem to stay happy for long. I didn't notice it back then but whenever I was having clean and wholesome fun with my church friends I experienced great joy and stayed happy longer than when I was hanging out with my football buddies that didn't have religion in their lives. It wasn't until a few months ago that I truly became converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ through personal scripture study, a little bit of a nudge from a dear friend and through prayer. I love this gospel.

How I live my faith

In my home ward I am actively involved in the youth activities with my brother and some of my close friends. I do my best to study the scriptures by myself once a day and to pray morning and night. At the beginning of this school semester (January) I helped set up a scripture study group with the people that live in my dorm building and we try to meet as often as we can and we answer each others questions and read from the scriptures.
