Hi I'm Tessa

I am going to school to become a nurse. I am married to the man of my dreams. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As already stated, I'm currently attending school to become a nurse. I am a sophomore in college and will be starting the nursing program at my school in the fall. I was married last August to a wonderful man and we plan on having children after I get my degree. Both of us come from fairly large families and we love it, so we're planning on having quite a few - between four and six. Besides enjoying sciences related to the medical field, I also love to write! I've written several short stories, poems, and a few novels and hope to someday be a published author! My husband and I are also into video games, movies, television shows, rubik's cubes, and board games. We're big-time nerds!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church - both my mother and my father were members when I was born. However, it is always a choice whether or not to be baptized. I've always known that the church was true, but there were times when my faith wavered, especially in my early teenage years. It was hard for me because I never felt like I had this miraculous moment where I just knew it was true - it was more of a gradual thing, and I thought that was strange. But one of the biggest affirmations of my faith was at something called Girl's Camp. It's a camping trip that young women in my church go on, once a year after they turn 12. At the end of Girl's Camp every year, there is a meeting called testimony meeting where anyone who wants to gets up and shares what they've experienced and shares their beliefs and their faith with everyone else. They say that you have to build your own faith, which is true, but it can certainly be strengthened by others with strong testimonies. The warmth I felt there is like nothing else I have ever experiences, except for through other spiritual moments through my church - such as going to the temple, and my marriage to my darling. The experiences in my life have given me all the faith I need to know that this church is true, and that the Lord is with me always. I have grown closer to Him through trials, and I love Him now more than I ever have. It is a constantly growing devotion. This is the true church of the Lord and I am grateful to have this gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I currently help with teaching the young children of my church. The children in my class are six turning seven and they all have such bright spirits! My husband and I often go out with the missionaries from my church to help teach people the gospel and befriend those we come across. We enjoy serving others and lightening the burdens that people face in their lives. We are far from perfect and we could always do much more, but we try to make a difference in the lives of people we meet!
