Hi I'm Monica

I am a Buffalo Bills fan! I enjoy cooking, reading and nature. Sometimes I even like to play video games. I LOVE being a mom!

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Western NY. After graduating high school I attended college at BYU-Idaho where I earned my degree in Social Work. I ended up in Montana where I worked as a Social Worker in a Long Term Care and Rehab facility and I had the privilege of serving some awesome people. Montana is also where I met my husband and decided to start a family. When I was 6 months pregnant we moved across the country back to NY. This wasn't an easy decision but we did what we felt was right for us. Now I live in a different small town in Western NY. I get to stay home with my 18 month old and work part time as a Peer Breast Feeding Counselor. I am learning a lot as I get to work with wonderful families and their babies.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense to both my heart and my mind. I was born in to the church and taught by my parents and teachers to know and love The Lord. I was taught that the church has the fulness of the gospel restored to the earth as it was in Jesus's time. Away from home and in college I decided I needed to put this to the test and really know for myself if this was indeed true. I have prayed to my Heavenly Father to know if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is His true church and He answered my prayer. If we ask, He will tell us and take away our doubts and fears. He wants us to come to Him with all things! I consider this to be the time I was truly converted to The Lord and not just relying on my parent's testimonies. The church answers the questions that speak to my very soul regarding who we are, where we come from and where we are going. Heavenly Father has a great plan of happiness for us and it is through His Son Jesus Christ that this plan is accomplished.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to love everyone and seeing them the way our Heavenly Father sees them. This even includes myself. People won't always believe what you say but they will believe what you do. I strive everyday to be who and what I say I am. I try to be an example of a true disciple of Jesus Christ by word and thought and deed. Of course I am a work in progress but hopefully I do a little better tomorrow than I did today. Serving as a Sunday school teacher to the youth and now just recently as a leader in the children's Sunday school, or Primary, I try to be that example and give them a foundation upon which they can test and prove and live their own faith.
