Hi I'm DeeDee

I'm a single mom, sister, friend, and I love anything sports related.

About Me

I am a single mother of one amazing son. I started my journey to be a Mormon when I was 8 years old and my primary friends kept inviting me to all their Wednesday activities. I knew this is the church I wanted to be a part of only after a few months. My family was being visited by home teachers and I asked one of them to baptize me. My home teacher was amazing and turned the tables and asked my dad if he would baptize me. Our journey has been an amazing one. As a young adult, I drifted away from the church as I just didn't have my own testimony yet. I kept finding churches in my area to keep me going but making poor little choices would eventually take me away again. I finally found my own testimony of the church and have been strong ever since. It is not easy living the church but if you make the choice to serve, your life will be a little easier.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love life. Each week the church reminds me that we can use each day as a new day and that our mistakes do not define us but make us stronger. I am a Mormon because I love that my Heavenly Father shows me everyday how much He loves me. He says to pray and read my scriptures daily to stay close to him as He will always be watching over me.

How I live my faith

I have only been back into the church for 5 years and in my second year, I was place in the Young Woman's program. This is where I have learned to love the church the most. I always wanted to be a teacher but my life has never allowed me to go back to school. I have the opportunity to teach in the Young Woman's program. This calling also helps me to understand all the stress the youth go through each day and I have been able to find ways to uplift them during the week. This has also helped me to understand who I really am and what my personal talents are. This is where my faith just grows stronger as I am learning who I really am. I love visiting teaching and how the church really breaks down callings to fit and challenge each one of us to be better people.
